It may have taken its time, but a rather important message recently hit home for holidaymakers from the UK – you don’t have to leave the UK to have a genuinely fantastic holiday.

Now more than ever, families are discovering and re-discovering the true joys of the British Isles, having for so many years simply assumed that the only good times to be had could be found abroad.

Such is the appeal and magnetism of certain UK hotspots that they’ve gained international acclaim and are drawing in spring and summer sun-seekers from all over the world.

And when it comes to ticking all of the most important ‘family fun’ boxes, it’s hard to think of anywhere better than Devon’s own Woolacombe beach.

THE TAKEAWAY-CONCLUSION

WOOLACOMBE BEACH AND ITS BEAUTY

What makes Woolacombe beach so special?

Well, the simple answer is a lot of things, but it’s fair to say that the number-one draw above and beyond everything else is the natural wonder that is Woolacombe Beach. And it’s not as if it’s just a matter of opinion for some either – Woolacombe Beach was recently voted ‘Best Beach In The UK’ by Trip Advisor readers. Moreover, it’s also appeared in various world-renowned publications, including The Independent, The Telegraph, and The Daily Mail, having been singled out as one of the best family beaches in the world.

Which prompts the obvious question – why?

Well, for one thing, Woolacombe Beach is blessed with mile after mile of soft golden sand, along with sublime swimming and surfing opportunities that are suitable for kids and adults at all levels.

There’s a huge resident contingency of rock pools to explore when the tides are right, the natural scenery on all sides is quite frankly breath-taking, and even in the summer, when things are at their busiest, you’ll still easily find plenty of space for you and the kids to relax.

Of course, local authorities are fiercely proud and protective of their glorious assets, so it’s no surprise that the beach is kept spotlessly clean. The only sore point ever mentioned by those visiting the place is that the car park just behind the beach is borderline extortionate.

It’s all for a worthy cause, of course, but for the sake of saving every penny for maximum family fun, the best advice is to make sure you and the kids stay somewhere close enough to the sands to never have to bother with using the car at all.
